Wicked In Your Arms was so cute! It's an opposites attract, from different sides of the tracks, hate to love mash-up of adorableness! Grier and her half-sisters have just been reunited with their father. He may be untitled and have a less than stellar reputation, but he's provided the girls with very generous dowries. Unfortunately, that's not quite enough for them to snag husbands. In fact, Grier overhears the crown prince of Maldania saying just how unsuitable a bride she'd be, prompting her to dump her drink on him! But the prince can't seem to get his mind off the feisty woman and is desperate to have her as his mistress.I absolutely adored Wicked In Your Arms. I loved that instead of being lords and ladies, we get a prince and a low born woman who was once a game master! Quite the unusual pairing! I also absolutely loved how these two are first thrust together after their initial meeting. It's quite hilarious and awkward, but it causes feelings to begin stirring! From there, Grier and Sevastian keep running into each other and misreading the situation which leads to many misunderstands, but nothing too over-the-top. It all just causes them to not be able to keep their hands off one another!
Wicked In Your Arms was just a delightful read. Grier knows she's not what the men of the ton are looking for in a wife, but she's also not going to settle for less, even with a prince. She has standards and dignity! Sevastian's life has never been his own, even his choice of bride. But once he gets a taste of Grier, pedigrees be damned! He loves her, and she's going to be his queen! They also have far more in common than their opposite upbringings would suggest. This leads to my favorite epilogue that I've probably ever read! Those two are just too funny!

I started the series after I found "How to Lose a Bride in One Night" was on sale for $1.99 so I went and bought the whole series.
I think to be a fan of Regency romance novels, you have to love the idea of Cinderalla stories where a lowly peasant girl (or in this case, the illegitimate daughter of a gaming hell owner) meets a prince, and you know a happily ever after is coming. Grier and Sev don't hit it off right away. Grier was a perfect mix of forthright personality mixed with insecurities at finding herself thrown into the midst of the upper echelon of London. Sev was the normal self-sacrificing prince, looking for a future princess with a good inheritance. I loved reading them fight through hatred and then turn to attraction.
My only complaint was Sev seemed a little superficial. You don't really see him grow too much over the story, except in large leaps that make it hard to connect with him. However, by the time I finished the series I realized Ms. Jordan doesn't delve too deep in the male side of the emotional-relationship, which was a little disappointing.
In the end, I would still recommend the "Forgotten Princesses" - another twist because only one of the females in the series becomes a princess so "Forgotten Heiresses" would have been better - for light, happily ever after stories.
I always enjoy Jordan's books... she has a wonderful talent of making you feel like you're part of the story. Seb's & Grier's attempts @ fighting their mutual attraction is enticing but the scene in the coat closet took my breathe away.
My only complaint is Jordan's book are about 100 pages too long & need a bit more heat... 3 or 4 scenes for almost 400 pages isn't enough to truly hold my interest.
If you're looking for a true regency but one that shows a h's backbone & a man who appreciates it.... this is your story.
I'm new to Historical Romances, I'm a paranormal romance person myself, and I'm so glad I found Jordan's books! This series is beyond amazing! I tend to like books with strong female leads, and Grier does not disappoint. She'd rather hang out behind potted plants at parties and eat biscuits then put up with the false smiles and gossiping ton. Because of her 'new father' and her low birth status, Grier has it a bit harder than most to fit in. And when prince Sevastion decides to drag her character through the mud a few times in gossip...well let's just say, he gets a drink to the back of the head.
Grier is witty, strong willed, and just wants to be loved for who she is. Who doesn't? YOU GO GIRL! Sevastion kind've starts off as an...well, an ass. You find out the WHY later, but he's just as stubborn as she is, with a sharp mind and keeping his people back home his number one goal. Not many people are that noble, eh?
I loved the sparring between them, how Sev will through something at her (verbally, of course) and how she throws it right back at him. (She doesn't care he's a prince, a jerk is a jerk right?) How they each resist each other, but so end up falling head over heels. And there was one part of the book I did not see coming at ALL, but it totally fit and brought them closer together. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time during that part!! I'm trying not to be spoilery, but once you finish the book - you'll know what I mean.
There are times when you just want to beat Sev over the head and tell him to get with the program, and Grier to buck up and have confidence in herself because SHE IS WORTH IT, but that's just because you come do adore both characters and just want them to get their happy ending. Because they both deserve it!!!
All in all? I LOVED THIS BOOK. And I'm buying the entire series. End of story. So go fall in love with Grier and Sev like you should, ok? )
