I loved this book. I think that this book touched on so many issues that everyone can relate to - maybe not this extreme but the same in that everyone has some internal war at some time. While reading this book I caught myself smiling a number of times and really enjoyed it all the way through.

Worth the Fight MMA Fighter Series Book 1 edition by Vi Keeland Warneke Reading Tihomir Iliev Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I fell in love with this book on the very beginning. It reminded me of Real by Katy Evans. Not quite as good but good all the same.
I think Elle and Nico were in fact destined to be together. To pull each other out of their darkness and into the light.
Each feels as if their secrets that are hidden will repel the other until Elle is brave enough to open up to Nico. It’s all the moments they are together even from the very start that builds that trust to the moment Elle opens up. With everything to lose, she goes for broke and it couldn’t be a more fitting nor more beautiful a moment where they bond together and fight their demons together and separately. To finally heal.
Great book. Highly recommend.
I'm not a reviewer that types another blurb that I think will help people to understand my deep love of a book. What I can say is that I fell hard and fast, maybe even faster than Elle for Nico the lady killer hunter. Being a fan of MMA fights and having a family surrounded by lawyers set this novel to a hard task of being a story I could lose myself in. Lost and lifted are the terms mileage you with as I describe how fully I was drawn. I'm a woman who has always been attracted too, even married to, the alpha, gladiator, male. Vi lays out a compelling, heart pounding, soul-awakening plot, that grabbed me and didn't let go! This is so much more than a fighter and a woman, much more than the tiny appeal of romance or an HEA. This book sang to my soul and opened my spirit to shine another light on the many reasons I Love my Husband today. Their is a strength in a man who Loves us and protects us, even when we feel un-loveable; gives us strength. Yes, I have one of those goofy, smile that encompasses my face when I feel my husband's love directed at me at full force. Nothing can diminish it.
Vi Keeland, you have my heart for finding the ability to put these feelings in written form. Thank you.
3.5-4 stars
This was a pretty good story. I liked both Elle and Nico and their story was enjoyable without being overly drama-filled.
Elle is a lawyer at a small law firm that she's been working at since she interned there right out of college. She's happy with her job even though the guy she's dating, William, thinks she should move to a larger firm. William is everything Elle thinks she should want in a boyfriend but their relationship is more along the lines of friends with benefits. Unfortunately, Elle's become bored with the relationship and isn't very interested in the benefits any more.
Nico is a championship winning MMA fighter that is on a break from fighting. About a year before, Nico was in a fight and a hit accidentally killed Nico's opponent. Even though they found out the guy died because of a brain aneurysm and through no fault of Nico's, he hasn't been able to face going back in the ring. He still has some endorsement deals however and it's one of those deals that brings him to Elle.
William is a lawyer that has Nico as a client and brings him to Elle to consult about his case. She agrees to help them with the issue they're having but it's clear from the first meeting that there's an attraction between Elle and Nico. William seems oblivious though and Elle is left trying to figure out how to proceed. Nico comes back to see her and asks her out but makes sure she knows it's just for a platonic dinner until she figures out where things stand between her and William. the dinner goes great and although she's a bit stressed about it, Elle quickly ends up breaking things off with William so she can go out with Nico.
Once William is out of the way, Nico and Elle find that their relationship falls into place almost easily. They fit together well and things seem good between them. There are some issues to deal with though and most of those harken back to Nico's fight that went wrong and whether or not he'll go back to fighting. And if he does go back to fighting, how will he handle his first fight back in the ring. Overall, the story wasn't majorly dramatic but Nico having to deal with what happened in order to move on, does provide some drama that has to be dealt with. I felt bad for them both but I was happy that Elle and Nico managed to get past the issues to end the story with a well deserved HEA together.
This was a pretty enjoyable story. I liked both Elle and Nico and was happy with how things turned out. The road to that ending was a bit rough but I think the story was well written overall and I'd recommend this story. )
* note - I listened to the audio version of this story and the narrator did a very good job.
I've wanted to read this book for a long time, and finally got around to it. Sadly, I think it wasn't nearly as good as this author's recent books. The major thing that bothered me was the repetitiveness. The phrasing was so similar during every interaction that it almost felt like I was stuck in some crazy deja vu scenario. The romance was fairly sweet considering we were supposed to accept these were more closed off, strong characters. The instalove was also quite over the top. I never really felt the main characters had more than a superficial connection. I did like Nico. I thought he had some depth to his character that was unexpected, but I wanted more between him and Elle. I think the plotline had promise, but it just never really developed into anything that would convince me to keep reading the series or even the author if this had been the first book of hers I read. With the many MMA/fighter series out there, this just failed to measure up.
I loved this book. I think that this book touched on so many issues that everyone can relate to - maybe not this extreme but the same in that everyone has some internal war at some time.
While reading this book I caught myself smiling a number of times and really enjoyed it all the way through.
